FC Ungheni was defeated 1-4 by Sangerei in the 1/16 finals of Moldova’s Cup. The only goal for the team that last year competed in the National Division was scored by Roman Gusan from a penalty, IPN reports.
The other encounters ended as follows: Speranta Drochia - Spicul 0-3, Granicerul - CS Intersport 3-0, Cahul-2005 - Sfantul Gheorghe 1-5 and Olimp - Sparta 0-3. The 1/8 finals will also involve the teams of the National Division. The matches will be played on October 24-25.
The current holder of Moldova’s Cup Sheriff Tiraspol beat Zaria Balti 5-0 in the final.
