FC Tiraspol climbed to the second spot in the National Football Division rankings after beating Milsami Orhei 2-0 in a derby of the 18th stage on April 26, IPN reports.
Alexandru Grosu and Djibril Paye scored by a goal for FC Tiraspol at the start of each half. As a result of this victory, Vlad Goian’s team outstripped Dacia Chisinau, but the ‘yellow wolves’ are yet to play against Rapid Ghidighici on April 27.
Milsami remains fourth, but loses ground in the battle for the three winning places of the national championship.
Elsewhere, Zimbru Chisinau defeated Speranta Crihana Veche 8-1. Russian striker Sergey Tsyganov scored three goals. It was a debut match for Sergey Kleshchenko as the coach of the ‘yellow greens’. Zimbru now comes sixth in the rankings.
In the other matches of the stage, Nistru Otaci meets Iskra-Stal Rybnitsa, Sheriff Tiraspol – Academia Chisinau, while FC Costuleni – Olimpia Balti.
