Moldovan halfback Gheorghe Anton is the second player signed by FC Sheriff this summer. Gheorghe Anton started his professional career at Zimbru Chisinau in 2012 and played over 100 matches in the National Division, IPN reports.
Gheorghe Anton also played for the national youth teams of Moldova and recently played for the national football team. He has won two trophies – Moldova’s Cup and Super Cup – together with Zimbru Chisinau.
Sheriff also signed a contract with Dutch halfback Jeremy De Nooijer on June 21. Jeremy was born in the Dutch town of Vlissingen and started his professional career at Sparta Rotterdam. After playing three seasons at one of the most famous Dutch teams, he signed for Levschi Sofia, where he played the last two seasons. Jeremy De Nooijer also played five matches for the national team of Curacao (the Netherlands Antilles).
