The football team Granicerul Glodeni produced a surprise in the current season of Division A. The team trained by Nicolae Reaboi secured a place on the winner’s rostrum one stage before the end of the championship, IPN reports.
Granicerul beat away the championship’s leader Victoria 2-0 in the last but one round. Maneakov managed to score two goals during the last 15 minutes of the game. “We showed once again that we deserve to play in Division A. I’m glad that we rank third,” Granicerul coach Nicolae Reaboi told a news conference.
Even after this defeat, Victoria remained first with 36 points, being one point ahead of Sheriff-2, which is not entitled to promotion to the National Division. In the last stage, Victoria plays Cahul away on November 17, while Sheriff-2 will go to Glodeni to meet FC Granicerul.
