A false bomb threat was witnessed at a lyceum situated in Rascani district of Chisinau. All the students and teachers had been evacuated from the building for several hours. The police isolated the education institution, IPN reports.
An unudentified person called the police at about 1pm, saying a bomb was planted at the lyceum. The information was transmitted to the specialized services, which isolated the area. The bomb squad checked the institution’s classrooms and the basement and found no suspect object that would have posed a threat.
According to the Chisinau Police Division’s press officer Natalia Stati, the caller, who was a male, faces a fine or up to two years’ imprisonment. If it’s established that the person who called the police was a minor, this will be taken under police supervision.
