The extraparliamentary parties hold talks on the formation of an extended alliance for the local general elections, said the chairman of People Power Party Ruslan Codreanu. According to him, the discussions involve political entities of the right given that the PAS loses the voters’ confidence and the forces of the left attract the dissatisfied voters. Ruslan Codreanu considers the Gavrilița Government will be dismissed this spring, IPN reports.

The politician said the citizens’ confidence in the Party of Action and Solidarity decreases constantly and the government’s defective work will facilitate the parties of the left’s access to power. Therefore, the political right should combine forces.

“The loss of citizens’ confidence in the PAS will strengthen not the small parties of the right, but the parties of the left. It is a cyclical process, a vicious circle that the Republic of Moldova cannot break. I now have the impression that we do not have the opposition. The subjects discussed within the Common Agenda do not coincide with our views. The mates from the Common Agenda criticized the Electoral Code. We are satisfied with the provisions of the Electoral Code. We are having discussions with many extraparliamentary parties of the right in the hope that in the context of the local elections, we will reach an agreement and will form a coalition. But our condition is for this coalition not to be temporary, but a long-term alliance,” Ruslan Codreanu stated in the program “Résumé” on RliveTV channel.

The chairman of People Power Party said his party formulated multiple recommendations for the current government, but their solutions are ignored. The Gavrilița Government does not have a view and concrete solutions for the people’s benefit and it can be dismissed in several months.

“The destabilization of the situation in the Republic of Moldova cannot yield a better result. We are those who not only criticize but also come up with solutions. Our jurists work on the amendment of the legal framework. We propose to the MPs a law with very clear amendments. We are sometimes not heard and then, as a party, we have only the democratic instrument of protests. There is no use dismissing the Government now as after winter the people will be anyway dissatisfied and a new Government will need to be formed. I think in spring we will witness radical changes in the Government and it would be the case,” stated Ruslan Codreanu.

Earlier, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița denied the rumors that the Cabinet would be dismissed. She admitted there are dissensions inside the ruling party but noted that the disagreements are something normal in a democracy.
