“The postponement of reforms from one year to another and from one Government to another has effects. Moldova became a country that exports not only labor force, but also brains,” said Tatiana Lariushin, economic expert of the Institute for Development and Social Initiatives “Viitorul”. In a televised economic debate on January 26, the expert noted that Moldova became a country from where the brains migrate because the persons who graduate from universities cannot find a job, IPN reports.

Tatiana Lariushin said that to remedy the situation, not one reform, but a series of reforms must be done for the persons who possess rich knowledge to successfully use it in the native country. “This means creation of attractive jobs, with competitive salaries, which would allow them to lead a normal life,” she stated.

IT expert Veaceslav Cunev said attractive jobs can be created in the ICT sector. “It’s not the case to set too many priorities. It is enough to choose only several ones and to work seriously on these, not only to declare them and to later forget about them,” he said.

According to the expert, the new IT industry, especially the software creation sector, has prospects in Moldova and there are particular resources, including human ones, which can be used in this regard. But the state should ensure stimulation for a certain period of time and should contribute to training skilled personnel by cooperating with the interested companies. It should also promote the production of Moldovan companies abroad.

The economic debate “Prospects of developing the innovational business in Moldova” was organized by the Institute for Development and Social Initiatives  “Viitorul” and Radio Free Europe.
