The Government of Moldova should offer tax concessions to the inhabitants and economic entities from the Transnistrian villages managed by the constitutional authorities so as to avoid separatism. Such a solution was proposed by a group of experts and representatives of civil society in the program “Fabrika” on “Publika TV” channel, IPN reports.

Ion Manole, chairman of the NGO “Promo-Lex”, said the subsidies allocated by Russia for Transnistrian pensioners should be controlled by the Moldovan authorities, in accordance with the legislation on foreign humanitarian assistance. “Then, the so-called ‘pension of Putin’, which is a bonus of US$12 to the pension, will no longer serve as a reason for blackmail,” he stated.

Ex-Minister of the Interior Ghenadie Cosovan criticized the authorities for not ensuring the security of the inhabitants of the Moldova-administered Transnistrian settlements. “A way out is to take legal action against those who destabilize the situation by their acts,” he stated.

On April 4, several dozen people, most of whom pensioners, mounted a protest in Dorotskaya village of Dubasari district, demanding holding a referendum on transferring the settlement under the Transition administration.

Another group of about 200 locals staged simultaneously a protest against the initiative.

Dorotskaya is situated on the left bank of the Nistru River, but is managed by the constitutional authorities. The village witnessed a number of incidents caused by the separatist forces, which almost yearly prevent the locals from getting to their farmland located eastward the Tiraspol – Camenca road.

The participants in the program “Fabrika” said these events are orchestrated by Tiraspol, which profits from the crisis in the region.
