The mayoralty of Passau town (Germany) hosts, starting June 20, 2006, and exhibition dedicated to the Republic of Moldova and Romania, the News Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MFAEI) announces, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. The exhibition will last till the end of July, and is the eighth and last but one in the list of cultural events of Passau, dedicated to the Danube states. The aim of the exhibition is to familiarize the German public with the customs and culture of the Danube countries. The General Mayor of Passau town, Albert Zankl, the ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Berlin, Igor Corman and the general consul of Romania participated at the inauguration ceremony of the varnishing. In the welcome speech addressed to the participants of the ceremony, the head of the Moldovan diplomatic mission emphasized the importance of the event through the European integration objectives of the Republic of Moldova and the possibility of promoting the image of Moldova, inclusding in the tourism area. At the end of the ceremony, the present public had the occasion to taste the traditional food and Moldovan wines. Passau is a town located in the Eastern Bavaria, and is also named the city of the three rivers (Danube, Inn and Ilz), and has a population of over 50.000 inhabitants, of which 8000 are students.
