The former Romanian MP Cristian Rizea said the Pro Moldova MP Vladimir Cebotari is the right hand of Vlad Plahotniuc and he manages the schemes in the Moldovan justice sector. In reply, Cebotari denied the accusations made by Rizea, saying the ex-Romanian MP asked him to intermediate a meeting with Vlad Plahotniuc, but he refused, IPN reports.

The former Romanian MP Cristian Rizea, who was recently released from prison, admitted that he had close relations with the former leader of the PDM Vlad Plahotniuc and Plahotniuc offered him to become involved in politics in the Republic of Moldova.

“He offered me the post of MP at the elections of February 2019. He told me that they were considering in which district I could run. He told me the criminal case will also be solved. I told him I want to solve the problem with the justice system so that this does not affect the image of the party,” Cristian Rizea stated in the talk show “Secrets of the Power” on Jurnal TV channel.

Furthermore, Rizea said the vice president of Pro Moldova Vlad Cebotari remained the right hand of Vlad Plahotniuc and Cebotari ensures connection between Plahotniuc and all the Moldovan politicians.

“Vladimir Cebotari is the one who manages the schemes in the justice sector. He obeys Plahotniuc and remained loyal to him at a time when others abandoned Plahotniuc. Cebotari continues to intermediate his schemes in the justice sector,” started Cristian Rizea.

Contacted by phone during the program, Vladimir Cebotari denied the accusations made by Cristian Rizea.

“Rizea asked me to ensure his contact with Plahotniuc, but I do not do something like this. Mister Rizea throws statements, but he flatters me if he thinks that I manage schemes in the justice sector,” stated Vladimir Cebotari.

Ex-PSD MP Cristian Rizea was arrested on November 3 after his Moldovan nationality was withdrawn by a decree signed by the then President Igor Dodon on November 2. Rizea fled Romania where he was sentenced to four years in jail, while his application to be offered asylum in Moldova was rejected.
