Ex-officer of CCCEC testified about the ambulances of the case investigated on mayoralty’s employees

The court of the district Centru of the capital heard on Wednesday, 29 March, the ex-officer for exceptional cases within the Centre for Fighting Economic Offences and Corruption (CCCEC), Grigore Gorea. He was cited as witness in the case of ambulances of the case investigating mayor’s employees of the capital. In this episode it is suited the secretary of Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC), Vladimir Sarban, who is blamed by the fact the he had modified the unauthorized text of a decision of CMC, resulting the ex-general mayor Serafim Urecheanu got additional powers to manage money for purchasing 40 ambulances. Gorea told in the court about the penal case against Sarban and about his arrest, mentioning that there were no reasons for his arresting. He said that his actions were according to legislation in force, excepting making the report of the case and the report on Sarban’s arrest, noting that he had done these actions „against his consciousness and will, being forced by his chief”. Gorea said: „I thing it’s time that the justice makes its duty, and then we will comment”. Either the prosecurot Lucretia Zaharia did not want to comment. In stead, Sarban’s lawyer, Nicolae Ursu, noted that the witness has made serious confesses, with rather serious consequences from juridical point of view. He explained that as result of witnesses of Gorea, regarding illegal making of those two reports under the pressure of CCCEC and General Prosecution, all proofs on the case lost their legitimacy. Vladimir Sarban said that he was impressed by the fact that Gorea showed courage, making these statements in the court. He also said that he was surprised by the questions addressed to the witness in the court regarding the need to protect the rights of citizens of arrested persons. Grigore Gorea said that at the end of 2004 the cases presented to Serafim Urecheanu and Vladimir Sarban were made up by the General prosecution at the order of President Vladimir Voronin.
