Former MP of the Democratic Party and then of Șor Party Vladimir Vitiuc risk remaining without unjustified property worth over half a million lei. The National Integrity Authority issued an ascertaining document referring to the ex-MP, IPN reports.

The integrity inspector identified a difference of 2.2 million lei generated in December 2014 – July 2016 by the purchase of a Land Rover Range Rover car to the value of €85,200 and by the supplementing of the family budget with deposits made into the bank account. There was also determined a difference of 679,000 lei generated in August 2016 – March 2020 by the supplementing of the family budget with deposits made into the bank account. In accordance with the legal provisions, the National Integrity Authority can file a lawsuit and ask to confiscate unjustified property to the value of only 679,411 lei.

Asked by NIA to state his viewpoint, Vladimir Vitiuc invoked the presence of money from personal savings and from sources of income of his parents and parents-in-law.

If the ascertaining document remains definitive, the unjustified property will be confiscated and the former MP will be banned from holding public posts for a three-year period and will be obliged to rectify the earlier submitted tax returns.
