Alexandru Slusari, former MP of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform”, submitted a denouncement to the Prosecutor General’s Office over the robbing of the insurance system in 2018-2019, IPN reports.
“Seeing the quietness inside the investigation bodies, I filed a denouncement to the Prosecutor General’s Office over the robbing of the insurance system in 2018-2019, when at least 200 million lei was stolen from the two insurers and was transferred to phantom firms in offshore areas and to persons representing Plahotniuc and Shor. A part of the money (40m lei) was transferred to a business partner of Plahotniuc, Oleg Goncharenco, who in several months, most probably with this money, gained control over the Chisinau Airport,” Alexandru Slusari posted on his Facebook page.
According to the ex-MP, the scheme was implemented based on mimicked transactions through Moldovan banks by amending the legislation and with the direct involvement of the administration of the National Commission for Financial Markets and amid the inaction of the regulatory and money laundering prevention institutions.
“What is noteworthy is that such operations were performed after the Laundromat scheme and the billion theft and after the legislation on the prevention and fighting of financial-banking swindles was toughened up significantly,” wrote the former MP.
