Former MP of the Democratic Party Eugeniu Nikiforchuk founded a political party. This is called the Respect Moldova Movement that was registered with the Public Services Agency, IPN reports.

Eugeniu Nikiforchuk is indicated as the chairman of the party that has 1,250 members and is based on Mitropolit Dosoftei St in Chisinau.

“What we aim to do is to ensure conditions for competent people to come to power to build a normal and really flourishing Moldova,” the ex-MP stated earlier.

Eugeniu Nikiforchuk, 39, is a politician and a businessman. He joined the Democratic Party (PDM) in 2011 and entered Parliament as a result of the elections of 2014. In the elections of 2019, he was reelected as an MP. In August 2020, Eugeniu Nikiforchuk and his mate Vladimir Andronachi were excluded from the PDM by the party’s Executive Bureau for the reason that the two didn’t take part in the meetings of the Democratic parliamentary group and in the PDM’s events. Later, the two were accused of influencing other departures from the PDM. As an unaffiliated MP, Eugeniu Nikiforchuk, alongside the Party of Socialists, signed for the creation of a parliamentary majority for fielding Mariana Durleșteanu for Prime Minister.

A year ago, anticorruption prosecutors accused the ex-MP of active corruption. He promised €350,000 to a female MP for leaving the parliamentary group of which she formed part.

According to the Public Services Agency, in Moldova there are 77 political parties.
