In over a month after joining the Coalition for Unity and Welfare (CUB) Party, ex-judge Victoria Sanduța announced her decision to withdraw from the party. She said that this decision is the result of fundamental divergences of views on how to organize and develop the party in the future, IPN reports.
"During only a month of activity, I had the opportunity to meet valuable people and learn important lessons. For all this, I am deeply grateful. However, I realized that some compromises, no matter how well-intentioned they are, can lead to the loss of one's identity, values and personality. I believe that the integrity of a political leader is measured not only by victories, but especially by the courage to admit that they made a mistake and by the determination to correct the direction," said Victoria Sanduța.
The former judge is convinced that this is what everyone expects from those who assume to be leaders – sincerity, responsibility and a permanent desire to learn and develop.
"That is why this decision represents, for me, a new beginning. From now on, I will remain a public figure and I will plead, with all conviction, for democracy, the rule of law and economic well-being. I want to continue contributing to the development of our country, regardless of the form that this involvement will take," noted Victoria Sanduța.
In mid-December, when she joined the CUB, the former judge said that she decided to enter politics to bring what she had been waiting for too long: competence, courage and truth.
