The Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament will hold an extraordinary sitting on April 16 to debate the situation in Moldova, the Romanian newspaper “Ziua” writes, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. The commission will draft a resolution for the European Parliament which is said to be condemning the abuses committed by the Chisinau Communist Government. The draft suggests to send an EU mission to watch the electoral process in Moldova. The resolution is to be debated in a session of the European Parliament, next week in Strasbourg. The draft asks the Moldovan Government to immediately stop all the illegal actions and to make sure the arrests to follow are done in compliance with the legislation. It also asks to stop intimidating journalists and protesters. The draft condemns arresting and expelling journalists from Moldova, blocking Internet sites and televisions. It calls regrettable the introduction of visas for Romanian citizens without a preliminary notification.
