The European Parliament next week will adopt a resolution supporting Moldova’s integration into the EU, said the Chairman of the European Parliament Delegation for relations with the Republic of Moldova Siegfried Muresan who is visiting Chisinau. The official reaffirmed the support at European level for the country’s efforts to integrate into the European Union, IPN reports.

“We support the European integration of the Republic of Moldova because the people want it, because European integration means prosperity, economic development, well-being. We see how all the states that joined the EU have developed economically and we now compare Poland with Belarus to see how European integration brings not only freedom of expression, freedom of the press, of justice, strong institutions, but also brings economic development. And we see how the states that did not choose the European path were left behind,” said Siegfried Mureșan.

The Chairman of the European Parliament Delegation for relations with the Republic of Moldova informed that the European Parliament next week will adopt an important resolution for the Republic of Moldova. “The European Parliament remains a strong supporter of the integration efforts of the Republic of Moldova and the first proof will be next week, when in the plenary session of the European Parliament we will debate the European path of the Republic of Moldova and will adopt a resolution in support of European integration, a resolution in which we will see that the European Parliament wants to play a strong and active role, including in the EU accession negotiations,” said the Romanian MEP.
