European Parliament President welcomes approval of new government

President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek welcomes the approval of the Moldovan government by the Moldovan Parliament, and looks forward to receiving Prime Minister Filat in Brussels in the beginning of February, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a press release from the European Union Delegation to Moldova, the European official trusts that the government of the Alliance for European Integration will bring much needed political stability for the country. “I salute the resolve of all three coalition partners to work together towards the common goal of democratic, stable and prosperous Moldova. Simultaneously, I stress the need for continued reforms and encourage all political players of Moldova to finally find a resolution to the constitutional deadlock and to successfully elect the President of the Republic,” Jerzy Buzek said. During his official visit to Chisinau in December, the European official said that the European Union is strongly committed to Moldova. “W salute the progress that has been achieved in the last year and a half. Moldova should stay firm on its path of reforms,” he stated.
