“European Action” Movement has vacant seats for persons willing to join

The composition of the leadership bodies of the “European Action” Movement (EAM) was not limited, offering room for potential new members, the party’s vice president Vitalie Sochirca told a press conference on Wednesday, October 25. He mentioned that the number of members of the National Council, of the political bureau and that of vice presidents was not specified. According to the cited source, EAM does not wish to exist as a party but as a movement in a body, its statue being elaborated just following this idea. Other political organizations, as well as ordinary people can also join this movement, through fusions, alliances etc, said Sochirca. The founders did not focused on a certain doctrine, “leaving the door open” for persons of different doctrines. Sochirca specified that the party aims at people, and in future there will be established relations of cooperation with the community of the people’s parties from the European Union. The leader of the party, Anatol Petrencu, stated that the term of “movement” was chosen for defining the group because the notion of party was discredited in Moldova and population does not trust such organizations anymore. He added that the new party is a center-right one and finds itself in opposition to the present government. The party’s electorate will be made of those disappointed by the parties that disgraced the anti-communist and pro-European idea, said Petrencu, asserting that the party’s main purpose is to integrate Moldova into EU, in the shortest time. The Founding Congress of the EAM took place on 22 October in Chisinau. 817 delegates participated in the forum. The party announced that it will submit documents for registration to the Ministry of Justice in the shortest time.
