The Europe Days in Chisinau start today, May 12, with songs, music and dances. An official ceremony will start at 14:00 in Chisinau's Great National Assembly Square and throughout the day people will be able to enjoy themselves and get to know more about the European family in an open-air European Village installed in the Square, Info-Prim Neo reports. The festivity will commence with a performance by the children's choir “Lacramioara”. The children will perform the European Union's anthem, followed by a launch of balloons into the air and official speeches. In the European Village, visitors will be able to taste dishes from nine countries: Spain, the Czech Republic, Germany, France, Turkey, Estonia, Italy, Romania and Belgium. Also, linguistic corners will be organize, and while parents attend the EU Language School or test the traditional European dishes children will have an opportunity to draw on the asphalt with crayons and get body painted with EU symbols. Further, two public debates on political and economic issues of the EU-Moldova cooperation will be held with participation of the EU Ambassadors and Moldovan high-raking officials. In parallel, at 15:00 a Folk Concert will start featuring a children's band from the Embassy of Romania, Polish dancers and German accordionists. The European Village activities will culminate at 19:00 with a concert featuring popular singers including Adrian Ursu, Nelly Ciobanu feat. Stefano Nutti, Karizma, Natalie Toma, Olia Tira and SunStroke Project and others. The Europe Days in Moldova are celebrated this year in Chisinau and Comrat during May 12-19. The events are organized by the EU Delegation to Moldova and sponsored by Sudzucker, Orange, Agroindbank Moldova and Flor Art.
