The pro-Moldova orientation announced by the Democratic Party means first of all the keeping of traditions, values and history of the people, Democratic MP Eugen Nikiforchuk was quoted by IPN as saying in the talk show “Reply” on Prime TV channel.

The MP referred to the orientation promoted by the Democratic Party at the party’s National Assembly that was held in central Chisinau in October 21. According to him, by this strategy the PDM wants to revitalize the villages so that these have infrastructure, repaired roads, water supply and sewage systems, renovated schools and kindergartens. The commitment adopted by the participants in the assembly is a serious support for designing the PDM’s country development concept for the next four years.

Victor Juc, vice director of the Institute of Legal and Political Research of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, said the government managed to stabilize the banking system and the relations with the International Monetary Fund and then with the European Union. “Thirdly, it managed to lay the basis for economic growth that was probably not so large, but a galloping start for the Republic of Moldova would have been too dangerous. Fourthly, it managed to lay the foundations for modernization,” stated Victor Juc.

Sociologist Ian Lisnevski said the restoration of relations with the international institutions is one of the most important accomplishments of the current government. Even if the government has a series of achievements, the expectations of citizens are also high. Furthermore, this pro-Moldova path is the only possible one for ensuring the country’s development.
