The Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova supports the team of the National Philharmonic “Sergey Lunkevich” by helping organize a live concert that will take place on November 6, starting at 6pm. It is given by the National Orchestra and the Ensemble of Accordionists “Concertino”, directed by conductor Mihail Agafița, IPN reports.

EU Ambassador to Moldova Peter Michalko said the National Philharmonic is a symbol of Chisinau and of the whole country, is a place that harmoniously complements the architectural image of the capital city and, simultaneously, by the musical events it hosts, places the Republic of Moldova in the international cultural circuit. “The fire that devastated the building of the Philharmonic cannot leave us indifferent and I hope that by common efforts, the team of the Philharmonic will return to its home as soon as possible. The European Union is near the National Philharmonic and offers financial assistance for organizing this concert and we hope we will see the rehabilitation of this place of culture. Only together we are stronger,” stated Peter Michalko.

Svetlana Bivol, director general of the National Philharmonic “Sergey Lunkevich”, expressed her gratitude to the EU Delegation to Moldova for its gesture. “We ascertained enthusiastically that a lot of people are near us and, by art, at the November 6 concert, we will express our gratefulness. The art, music are the pillars that unite hearts from all the corners of the world regardless of age, race, gender. Together we are really stronger,” stated Svetlana Bivol.

Given the COVID-19 pandemic, the public is invited to follow the concert live on online platforms. They can enjoy exceptional songs sung under the baton of Master Mihail Agafița. In addition, a screen for the broadcast will be placed near the Triumphal Arch for the visitors of the Cathedral Park in Chisinau. The public is expected to come to the virtual meeting with music also on the Facebook pages of the EU Dictation to Moldova, “EU-Moldova Stronger Together” and the National Philharmonic “Sergey Lunkevich” and also on the platform Privesc.EU.
