Russia’s newly promoted Mordovia Saransk has signed six footballers in a bid to strengthen its forces for the Premier League. Two of them are the players of Moldova’s national team Alexandru Epureanu and Ilie Cebanu, IPN reports.

Their former teams Anji Mahacikala and Tom Tomsk were relegated to the Second League. Moldovan halfback Alexandru Suvorov also plays for Mordovia for now, but his contract will not be extended. At the end of June, Mordovia will go to train in Turkey.

Alexandru Epureanu, who is the captain of the national team of Moldova, earlier played for FC Moscow, Dinamo and Krylya Sovetov, while Ilie Cebanu – for Rubin Kazan. Cebanu was twice champion of Poland with Wisla Cracow.
