The captain of the national football team of Moldova Alexandru Epureanu played the first match of the European cups for Istanbul Bashakshehir, for which he has played since 2014. The Turkish team drew 0-0 at home with Croatia’s Rijeka, in the first-leg match of the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League, IPN reports.

Epureanu, 29, played throughout the game. The last season, the Moldovan fullback didn’t play for Bashakshehir in the European cups owing to injury. In the European cups, Epureanu also played for Sheriff, FC Moscow, and Anji.

International footballer Catalin Carp played for Viitorul Constanta in the match against Belgium’s Gent 0-5. The 22-year-old fullback, who only made his debut in the European cups, was replaced in the 72nd minute.
