As of Monday, March 3, parents can submit online the documents for the enrollment of their children in the first grade on https://escoala.chisinau.md.
All children in the corresponding school district who have reached the age of 7 by the beginning of the school year, including children of Moldovan citizens from the diaspora, citizens of the European Union and children from refugee families, without competitive exams, can enroll in the first grade, IPN reports.
The General Directorate of Education, Youth and Sport of the Chisinau City Hall specifies that the enrollment procedure will be carried out in two stages.
The first will run from March 3 to April 30. It is compulsory that the child's residence visa corresponds to the school district.
In classes with an arts and sports profile, enrollment in first grade may be based on aptitude tests specific to the profile. These will be held May 2-8.
The second stage of the first grade will take place from May 19-30. Applications for children from other school districts, as well as for children who will turn 7 between September 1 and December 31, 2025, will be accepted for the remaining places.
At the same time, aptitude tests will be conducted from June 2 to June 6, 2025, in general educational institutions that organize classes with profile, for the remaining vacant seats.
"We mention that the exceptional situations of children who during the two stages were not enrolled in the first grade will be examined by the schooling commissions, following the individual request of the parents, between August 20-30, 2025, within the limit of the places remaining free," DGETS states.
