In 2010, production of energy from renewable resources is to reach circa 6% of the amount of energy coming from traditional sources, and in 2020 is expected to reach 20%. This provision is contained in the bill on the use of renewable resources of energy, approved on Friday, February 23 by the Parliament. The draft law also stipulates the creation of a National Fund for re renewable energy. Among others, the fund is also to be constituted from 0.7% of the annual cost of electric power, obtained from traditional fuel and petroleum products imported by economic entities. Besides that, MPs analysed on Friday other 2 similar bills: on promoting production of electric power from renewable energy resources and the draft law on bio-fuel, bio-fuel for transportation and bio-oils. These 2 bills have been proposed by the MPs Valeriu Cosarciuc and Alexandru Oleinic. At the proposal of the specialised standing committee, the draft laws passed the first reading. In the second one they will be merged with the first bill. This proposal aroused dissatisfaction of the authors, who stated that their draft laws are better than that proposed by the Government, which, by the way, has been mostly plagiarised from them. The majority of the MPs, though, accepted the proposal of the Committee for economic policy, budget and finances. Cosarciuc and Oleinic stated that the parliament’s majority voted for the Committee’s proposal just because it was about bills proposed by MPs representing the “Moldova Noastra” Alliance opposition party.
