SA Energocom extended the contract for the purchase of electrical energy with the Moldovan Thermoelectric Plant (MGRES) of the Transustrian region until the end of 2024. The price of electricity remained the same as during the last few months – US$66 per MWh, IPN reports.

According to the schedule agreed by the sides, in November MGRES will supply 257,000 MWh of power to the right side of the Nistru. This is over 90% of the necessities, except the thermoelectric plants in Chisinau and Balti and the renewable energy companies. At peak rate, if need be, additional volumes of power will be bought from Ukrainian and Romanian producers and from the Romanian operator OPCOM, Energocom has said.

For the winter months, when the thermoelectric plants start to generate electricity too, the volume of power purchased from MGRES will decrease to 230,000-250,000 MWh.
