Between January 1 and 20, Energocom purchased 280,000 MWh at a weighted average price of €126.75 per MWh, IPN reports.
The total quantity and cost include electricity purchased on the domestic market, as a central supplier, and imports, based on bilateral contracts and purchases from the Romanian electricity and gas market operator OPCOM.
"About 30% of the necessary electricity were produced by the district heating plants in Chisinau and Balti, while the share of imported energy was 60%. Wind and photovoltaic parks, together with biogas plants, generated slightly over 10%," reads a press release.
According to Energocom, the sale price of electricity, approved by the National Agency for Energy Regulation, is €145 per MWh.
