The National Employers Confederation of Moldova announced it decided to stop taking part in the meetings of the national commission for collective consultations and negotiations, Info-Prim Neo reports. A letter addressed by the Confederation’s chairman Leonid Cerescu to Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Moldovanu invokes the behavior of the governmental side in the January 26 meeting of the commission, when the adoption of the joint statement of the National Employers Confederation and the National Confederation of Trade Unions of Moldova was boycotted. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, Leonid Cerescu said the behavior of the governmental side is unserious as a quorum on the part of the Government was not present at the previous meeting of the commission and thus the statement could not be adopted. The employers will return to the meetings of the commission when a bill to amend the law on the organization and running of this commission and the related sector and local commissions is included in the agenda The head of the National Confederation of Trade Unions Oleg Budza said the employers’ decision led to the postponement of the commission’s meeting set for February 28. “We discussed with Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Moldovanu and agreed that we must reach a compromise as regards the employers’ request. I will also talk with Mister Cerescu. We have a cooperation agreement. We must see what we can do to restore the tripartite commission,” said Oleg Budza. Earlier, Leonid Cerescu said the employers intend to leave the tripartite commission as they see no purpose in its work and the governmental side does not take into account the opinions of the other sides.
