Employers encouraged to hire persons with disabilities

The Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family launched a communication campaign themed “I can work too” that is designed to convince the employers to provide work for persons with disabilities, Info-Prim Neo reports. Deputy Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family Anna Vasilachi said that after the Law on the Social Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities has been adopted this year, these persons are no longer isolated by society. Effort is made to engage them in the general economic processes. Within the campaign “I can work too”, there will be produced information and promotional materials for employers and printed guides on concessions and employers’ obligations to create workplaces for disabled persons. At the end of the campaign, there will be held a nationwide contest to select the best employer. An exhibition of photographs produced by persons with disabilities was staged as part of the event. The pictures were taken at workplaces and show the opportunities enjoyed by disabled persons and the problems they face. A number of activities centering on social inclusion will be carried out in Moldova between November 30 and December 11, in connection with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities that is marked on December 3.
