The emotional pain during the pandemic is neglected. The pandemic affected everyone and the fact that there are people who suffer profoundly because of the harsh realities associated with the pandemic should not be neglected, said psychologist Liuba Ceban, the founder of the helpline for the prevention of suicide and manager of the Public Association “Altruism”.
In a news conference at IPN, Liuba Ceban said that even if from scientific viewpoint, it is not clear how the realities associated with the pandemic are related to suicide, but the emotional pain that lasts long needs to be devoted attention. If the pain is not taken seriously, is not treated, is not expressed, it tends to accumulate and some of the people can experience more serious crisis in a period, even the suicidal crisis.
Liuba Ceban noted that each evening on https://pentruviata.md/, the platform’s counselors will be near the people with unbearable pain or who think about suicide. “The suicide is not a solution. We tell you that we are near you and want to be near you. So, don’t hesitate to contact us,” she said.
