Elena Lasconi is the Romanian presidential candidate with the most votes in Moldova

Romanian presidential candidate Elena Lasconi is in first place according to the number of votes cast by voters who exercised their right to vote in the Republic of Moldova. The Union Save Romania candidate received 45 590 votes, representing 56.65% of the votes, IPN reports.

In second place in the preferences of voters who voted at polling stations opened in the Republic of Moldova is the candidate of the National Liberal Party, Nicolae Ciuca. He was voted for by 16 175 citizens or 20.1% of those who voted.

For the Social Democratic Party candidate Marcel Ciolacu, 5 563 voters voted - 6.91%. Mircea Geoana, who ran as an independent candidate, polled 4 567 votes or 5.67%, while George Simion of the Alliance for the Unity of Romanians got 3 202 votes or 3.98%.

According to the provisional results from the Permanent Electoral Authority of Romania, after 99.99% of the minutes have been centralized, the independent candidate Calin Georgescu (22.95% of the votes) is in first place among the 14 candidates, followed by the USR candidate Elena Lasconi (19.17%) and Marcel Ciolacu (19.15%) in third place.
