The Government examined the bill to amend the law on the public pension system that was put forward by MP Dan Perciun as a legislative proposal. The MP suggests facilitating the process of submitting the application for obtaining a pension by using the electronic signature, IPN reports.

Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu said they have worked on the optimization of the mechanism for examining the right to pension so that the pensioner does not need to go to social insurance bodies.

“The amendment to the law on the public pension system that enables to apply for pension by proxy as well took effect on July 31, 2020. In case of the application signed electronically, this implies additional costs in the issuing of the electronic signature by the responsible body. For this reason, the given proposal cannot be supported,” stated the minister.

Viorica Dumbrăveanu added that in the case of reexamination of the old-age pension if the person worked or has worked after retiring, applications can be presented online too.
