The peak in electricity consumption was between 17:00 and 20:00, reaching a maximum of 908 MW. Consumers are urged to save electricity during peak hours, 07:00-11:00 and 18:00-23:00, in order to have lower bills and to ensure the stability of the power system.
According to the authorities, the electricity consumption for the right bank of the Dniester River will be fully covered today, January 21, according to the information of the Government Crisis Cell. Consumption is expected to be about 3% higher than on the previous day.
In addition to the available domestic sources - district heating plants in Chisinau and Balti and energy from renewable sources, Energocom has reserved the necessary import capacity so that consumption can be covered on the basis of bilateral contracts and on the Romanian stock exchange. The activation of breakdown contracts and/or unintended flows is not necessary.
In total, during January 1-20, Energocom purchased 280 thousand MWh at the weighted average price of about 126.75 EUR/MWh.
With regard to the Transnistrian region, the Crisis Cell notes that programmed power outages lasting five hours are still occurring once a day.
