New promises were made by election runners in a new round of debates at ProTV Chisinau. The leader of the Party “Democracy at Home” said that when they enter Parliament, they will insist on withdrawing the Russian army from the country. The representative of the Party “NOI” assured that they will demand, among others, to annul the concession of the Chisinau International Airport, while the representative of the National Unity Party said the Union with Romania is the only realistic path for solving the problems of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.
The Union would bring to our country the prosperity of an EU member state and the security of a NATO member state, said the PUN’s representative Iurie Reniță.
“To ensure the welfare of the citizens, there is a short, safe and realistic path – the Union with the Homeland, Romania. This way, we will enjoy security by obtaining the safe umbrella and screen of NATO. (...) We proposed forming a bloc together with the AUR, but were turned down and we were offered to go under the emblem of the AUR. This fact wasn’t unifying and didn’t motivate the parties and we believe it won’t motivate the citizens either,” Iurie Reniță stated in the electoral debates “You vote for you on ProTV”.
The representative of “NOI” Cristian Rizea, who was sentenced in Romania to four years and eight months in jail for influence peddling and money laundering, said the case against him was fabricated and he came to the Republic of Moldova to change to the better the country’s fate by reforming the justice sector and re-launching the economy.
“It was a fabricated case and Mircea Geoană should have been convicted instead of me. As he is a high-ranking NATO official, Rizea was classed the “most corrupt”. (...) We will check all the property of public servants as, in their property statements, all the politicians, most of the judges, prosecutors do not declare their possessions worth millions at their right value. We will confiscate their assets as they are to blame for the lack of funds for paying pensions and salaries. We will eliminate the bank commission on all the money coming from the diaspora and will obtain the annulment of the concession of the Chisinau International Airport,” stated Cristian Mihai Rizea.
The leader of the Party “Democracy at Home” Vasile Costiuc said his party cannot be associated with the image of Vlad Plahotniuc or Ilan Shor even if the party’s list includes Constantin Jardan, who is related to the Shor Party MP Petru Jardan.
“Why should someone answer for the actions of a distant relative? (...) If we form part of the government, we will insist on the pullout of the Russian army, ensuring of energy security, banning of propaganda TV channels and on support for farmers,” stated Vasile Costiuc.
