The Chance Party reacted to the actions of the police that on Thursday confiscated a large quantity of electoral material without documents of origin. The party said the documents referring to the printing services were drawn up in accordance with the law, IPN reports.
The party noted that the goods were souvenirs, such as T-shirts, caps, pencils with the party’s emblem. Owing to the pressure exerted by representatives of the current government, the process of opening a bank account is being delayed.
“Therefore, we cannot for now pay for the printing services by bank transfer. Until the problem is solved, the material will be kept at the publishing house and will be transmitted to the party after the payment is made. The Chance Party considers the police acted by order of the PAS government that tries by illegal and abusive methods to intimidate election contenders,” the party said in a press release.
The General Police Inspectorate earlier today reported that the police discovered a large quantity of electoral material without document of origin for the raw material at a limited liability company based in Chisinau. The material was printed in the absence of a contract for the provision of services and without indicating the edition number. The goods were sealed up.
