The Constitutional Court confirmed that the snap parliamentary elections of July 11were held correctly and were based on universal, equal, direct, secret and free suffrage, the president of the Constitutional Court Domnica Manole stated in her speech in the Parliament constitution sitting, IPN reports.

Domnica Manole said that according to the data of the Central Election Commission, three political entities entered the new Parliament, namely the Party of Action and Solidarity with 63 seats; the Electoral Bloc of the Communists and the Socialists with 32 seats, and the Shor Party with six seats.

The CC president noted that all the candidates put on the lists are eligible for the post of MP and submitted own responsibility statements by which they confirm that they haven’t been banned from running. The Central Electing Commission didn’t present information about the existence of proceedings started against candidates in connection with the elections. Consequently, the Court decided to validate the seats of the MPs elected on July 11.

The first sitting of the new legislative body involves 91 of the 101 elected MPs. The meeting is also attended by President Maia Sandu, Constitutional Court president Domnica Manole, Central Election Commission chairman Dorin Centrale and representatives of embassies accredited to Moldova.
