Elections in Romania | Over 12 000 people voted in Moldova by noon

More than 12 000 people voted in the 59 polling stations opened in the Republic of Moldova by midday in the Romanian presidential elections. Voting will take place throughout the day until 21:00 and on Sunday between 07:00 and 21:00. The Permanent Electoral Authority of Romania specifies that on both voting days abroad there is the possibility to extend the polling station opening hours until 23:59 for citizens who are in the polling station or in line at 21:00, IPN reports.

Voting abroad began at 12 noon on Friday, and by midday on Saturday more than 70,000 Romanians had voted in the 950 polling stations open outside Romania.

In the presidential elections in Romania, Romanian citizens, including Moldovans with Romanian citizenship, choose between 14 candidates. In Moldova, 59 polling stations are open.
