The new parliamentary elections that will take place in single-member constituency No.38 Hâncești on March 15 will be held in conditions of increased protection and sanitation given the epidemiological situation in the country. Zinaida Dubchak, head of the Electoral Council of the Hâncești Electoral District, has told IPN that antiseptics will be available in polling stations and the members of electoral bureaus will wear medical face masks. The number of voters inside a polling station will be limited.

The pens used by voters to put their signatures on electoral registers will be disinfected after each voter. Every two hours, the surfaces inside polling stations will be disinfected. A person of the electoral bureau will be responsible for public order. The voters will be directed so as to avoid crowdedness.

Zinaida Dubchak said they are considering the possibility of enabling each voter who will enter the polling station to disinfect or wash the hands. If the voters stay in groups, they will be informed about the danger of infection with COVID-19 and will be recommended to go home after voting.

If one of the election runners decides, for example, to distribute medical masks to voters, this could be classed as electoral bribe, but the Central Election Commission will have to be consulted first.

A number of 44 polling stations will be established in single-member constituency No. 38, Hâncești.
