The elections in Condratesti village of Ungheni district will be cancelled owing to a mistake made in the ballot, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Three persons with the name “Ion Bodrug” ran for mayor in the first round of the elections on June 5. Each of them represented by a party of the Alliance for European Integration. The candidates on behalf of the PLDM and PL won the largest number of votes in the first round, but owing to a technical mistake, the PLDM’s candidate was replaced by the PDM’s candidate in the ballot for the runoff vote.
Central Election Commission president Iurie Ciocan said there are about 1,000 voters in Condratesti village. Half of them already voted.
The date of rerun elections will be announced later.
