Eight persons who acted as organizers and intermediaries were arrested on drug distribution charges within an operation in the morning of October 17. This was conducted by the Anti-Drug Division of the National Investigations Inspectorate. Over 90 searches in 26 districts were carried out as part of this, IPN has learned from the Inspectorate.
The searches covered persons who were allegedly involved in the keeping, production and distribution of drugs on Moldova’s territory. In Cahul district, there were arrested a man aged 46, who was earlier convicted of serious and very serious offenses, and three accomplices who live in Chisinau municipality.
In Causeni district, there were arrested four persons, one of whom wis a student of “Stefan cel Mare” Academy of the Ministry of the Interior. These are suspected of selling hashish. The student was arrested when police officers under cover purchased drugs on the territory of the education institution.
The National Investigations Inspectorate said it will provide details about other searches later.
