Economic recovery and accession to EU among subjects for Moldova Support Platform

The fourth edition of the Moldova Support Platform will take place at the Palace of the Republic in Chisinau on October 17. On the sidelines of the event that will bring together representatives from over 30 countries and international organizations, including financial ones, there will be signed a number of documents. Panel discussions will be held on a number of issues, including development opportunities, stimulation of economic recovery in Moldova and the preparations for joining the EU, IPN reports.

In a news conference, the Government’s spokesman Daniel Vodă said that the participation of the foreign affairs chiefs of France, Germany and Romania was already confirmed. There are also other confirmations that are being systematized.

Prime Minister Dorin Recean will take part in a panel that will center on the development priorities in the crisis context in Moldova. There will also be discussed the infrastructure fund that Moldova is creating for modernizing roads in rural and urban areas and the mobilization of the business community for this to take part in major infrastructure projects.

The creation of the energy security fund or the fund for renewable energy to enable to accelerate the transition to green energy and to ensure the country’s energy independence, regional turbulences that affect Moldova and how they can be overcome with the assistance of other states will also be among the topics for discussion.

“A number of documents will be signed on the sidelines of the event. This platform is an excellent occasion for bringing together at bilateral level the participating states, international organizations like those of the UN and international and European financial organizations to discuss joint development projects,” stated Daniel Vodă.
