The Electoral Bloc of the Communists and the Socialists (EBCS) proposed that the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) should sign a joint commitment before the people, which contains a number of “essential promises”, PSRM executive secretary Vlad Batrîncea stated in a press briefing. Representatives of the bloc signed the document today, June 4, IPN reports.
Under the public commitment, the signatories undertake not to promote anti-social, anti-people laws and reforms that would generate degradation. In particular, they promise not to increase the retirement age, not to liquidate districts as an administrative-territorial form and not to reduce the number of mayor’s offices in the country, not to allow farmland to be sold to foreign citizens or companies. Vlad Batrîncea said the document can be supplemented with provisions that will contribute to improving the socioeconomic situation in the country.
According to the Socialist heavyweight, they chose namely these commitments because the Republic of Moldova should promote social policies and should not show disrespect for the people who contributed to Moldova’s development by their work throughout life. “We know that our opponents hide behind very narrow promises. They center on an external agenda or a party agenda, but we note again that besides foreign partners, besides social media, there are citizens with their problems and there are settlements in the Republic of Moldova,” stated Vlad Batrîncea.
He noted that the EBCS wants to have a broad discussion on the perspective of the Moldovan settlements and the citizens have the right to know what reforms will be introduced into Parliament.
Asked to comment on the proposal, spokeswoman for the Party of Action and Solidarity Aurica Rusnac Jardan said the PAS invites first Vlad Batrîncea to sign a commitment by which they will promise to return to the state the dirty money that the Party of Socialists received through “kulyoks” (bags) and from Bahamas.
