The president of the Democratic Party (PD), Dumitru Diacov, wants a criminal case. At the Parliament’s sitting on November 6, the MP said that only this way he can appear on TV, Info-Prim Neo reports. Diacov said that the public television ignores the speeches and initiatives of the Opposition MPs and distorts the events. The PD leader demanded that the Head of Parliament Marian Lupu initiate a discussion or formulate a draft decision that would solve this problem. Dumitru Diacov said that he several times addressed to the president of the public broadcaster Teleradio-Moldova, Valentin Todercan, inviting the journalists to take part in several peaceful protests organized by the PD, but his invitation was turned down. “We are drawing closer to the parliamentary elections. We received messages from the European organizations and governments of Western states that the elections should be free and fair. I’m not against the Moldovan people giving 47% of their votes for a party, but the problem is that the present living conditions should be civilized,” Diacov said. “There should be an alternative program to Rezonans program. Give the political parties one hour on Sunday to discuss the events taking place in Moldova. If you intend to do nothing, institute legal proceedings against me so that at least the other television channels run after us. It is otherwise impossible to appear on TV in this country,” Dumitru Diacov said. One day earlier, the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party Vlad Filat, former PD member, was summoned to the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office, where he was informed he is investigated for cigarette smuggling. The subject was broadly reported on.
