Social-Democrat Party leader Dumitru Braghis has labeled the statements made by the Moldovan President in a TV program broadcast on Friday on NIT channel as lies and aberrations. Vladimir Voronin stated, among other, that back in 2003 Dumitru Braghis had burned a portrait of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The lies told by President Voronin have grown to become a state policy, a practice of the present government used by those who work for the system directly as well as by the sycophants and even the President himself”, said Dumitru Braghis on Tuesday, April 29, at a press conference. According to the PSD leader, the President’s statements are aimed at polishing the image of the Communist Party and at trying to maintain the power in their hands by any means. “When the lies come out of the President’s mouth, it is not just a simple statement, it is a life style, and such a President must resign”, said Dumitru Braghis, also blaming the President for being a coward. “He hides behind his bodyguards, servile journalists, behind the people who can’t tell him a word; he hides from the people who can answer back”, said Braghis. Dumitru Braghis addressed the head of state, appealing to his honor of President and Police General, inviting him to a live TV show in order to openly debate questions like “who damaged Moldova’s relations with other countries, who promised to solve the Transnistrian problem, but instead aggravated it, who promised to create 300,000 jobs, when actually they’ve reduced by more than 700,000 during 7 years, who left 300,000 children without one or both parents, who destroyed the economy…”. Braghis also asked the NIT channel to offer him a chance to reply on Friday, the same hour. Because he is not sure the channel will satisfy his request, Braghis also appeals to the Broadcasting Coordination Council for help in having his right to retort observed. Meanwhile, the PSD leader suggested the NIT channel to include a TV program called “The Opposition Hour”. Commenting on Vladimir Voronin’ statements that the war on Nistru River was initiated by the authorities in Chisinau as indicated by Bucharest, Dumitru Braghis said: “It’s not enough that we have the poorest relations with world countries, strategic partners and neighbors; even on the Holy Friday he tries to add oil to the fire of our relations with the neighbors”.
