Dudoglo's party registered

The Gagauz People's Party, created by Nicolai Dudoglo, has been registered by the Public Services Agency. It is the 84th political party in the Moldovan political arena, IPN reports.

"The fundamental aim of the party is to strengthen the sovereignty of the Republic of Moldova and to build a modern society based on the principles of the rule of law, economic welfare, equal opportunities, social justice and democratic centralism," the party's statutes state.

According to data from the ASP, the party's headquarters are in Chromat, and as of January 20, it had 1203 members.

In 2014, Nicolai Dudoglo entered the legislature on the lists of the Democratic Party, a party he left in 2018, also resigning from the parliamentary mandate.

In April 2023, he ran for the position of Bashkan of Gagauzia, winning 9% of the vote. That same year, in November, he wanted to become mayor of Comrat, but was defeated in the second round by Sergei Anastasov.
