The Central Election Commission assessed the voting process in the county and abroad on the election day and identified the moments that were organized inappropriately so as to deal with the faults by the runoff vote, IPN quoted CEC president Dorin Cimil as saying in the talk show “Black Box” on TV8 channel.

“We were also contacted by leaders of the diaspora who advised us how to act in a particular situation or another. We welcomed these pieces of advice and worked out an action plan for the runoff vote so as to remove the evident shortcomings,” stated Dorin Cimil.

This way, in the presidential runoff the CEC will redirect the scanners to polling stations where the number of voters will exceed 3,000. The Commission is considering supplementing the ballot boxes at some of the polling stations. Also, the electoral functionaries will be trained to take the temperature of voters and ask them to disinfect their hands outside the polling stations, not inside them. The CEC will also have discussions with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs so as to identify optimal solutions in each case apart, stated Dorin Cimil.

“The CEC owes apologies to everyone for the actions that weren’t considered or weren’t taken and hopes that things will be put right by the runoff.”

As to the complaints about voter corruption and organized transportation, the CEC president said there were many such complaints and they were referred to the General Police Inspectorate and the Prosecutor General’s Office for being examined.
