Communist Chisinau councilor Victor Gurau believes that for Igor Dodon it is very important that the early legislative elections take place. “Dodon’s actions derive either from lack of competence or from a plan. He is an opportunist,” Victor Gurau said in the program “Fabrica” on Publika TV channel, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. He said that Moldova is the hostage of a secret agreement between the components of the Alliance for European Integration. “We have three political-oligarchic groups and the fourth on the way. I think that Zinaida Greceanyi was taken out of books. She is a good economist. She won’t be satisfied with how the ministers work and will try to become involved in the executive’s affairs,” Victor Gurau said, referring to Greceanyi’s candidacy for the presidency. Political analyst Igor Botan considers that Igor Dodon has chances of entering Parliament with his new party if early elections are held. “The Socialist Party polled 5% of the vote in 2005. It is a good result. Dodon and Greceanyi can help the party pass the election threshold. They will gather a crop on small center- left segments,” Igor Botan said in the same program. The editor-in-chief of the paper “Panorama” Dmitri Chubashenko said the Communist Party is experiencing dismemberment and hopes to stop this process at the early elections. “Igor Dodon understood that he wouldn’t be included in the electoral list of the PCRM. Vladimir Voronin would have cheated him. Now Dodon achieved fame. Everybody now knows who he is. But it is important to transform this fame into trust,” he stated. All the participants in the program said there is a 50% possibility that the candidates for the presidency will be fielded close to the deadline. The presidential elections will take place on November 18. The candidates can be put forward by November 14. No candidate has been yet proposed by at least 15 lawmakers, as required by law.
