A doctor’s assistant of a sports school based in Taraclia aged 40 was sentenced to 22 years in jail for raping a minor girl for six times. The sentence was passed by the Cahul Court and can be appealed to a higher court, IPN reports.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the man periodically violated a girl aged ten during December 2017 – August 2018. Profiting from the negligence of the girl’s mother who had behavioral problems, the culprit sexually abused the girl even at her home.
This summer, the girl told her brother about what happened and this reported the man to the police. The culprit was under arrest since his detention and until his conviction.
The man is to also pay 100,000 lei in respect of non-pecuniary damage to the victim.
