Moldova’s Dmitry Svetushkin has won the most prestigious international chess tournament of Romania “Ceramica Corund”, whose prize money is of €25,000, IPN reports.
Svetushkin scored 6.5 points out of 9 possible and outperformed Hungary’s Gledura Benjamin, who also got 6.5 points, by a direct victory. Belgium’s Vadim Malakhatko ranked third with 6 points.
The third competition of the kind that was held in Corund commune involved over 360 chess players from 13 countries.
